In a small Cursillo prayer and share group, one member suggested that we make bag lunches and provide the bag lunches for the homeless individuals on the street. The group supported that inspiration. In December 2020, the same group made bag lunches and started searching for the homeless on the street. Since that time the second and fourth Saturday of the month were chosen to this ministry.

Food is collected from about a dozen individuals and families. They have been supportive since the beginning. The work begins on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM at the St. Anne’s convent after the morning Mass. 40-45 meal bags are prepared for our homeless brothers and sisters. Individuals decide at what level they want to be involved: Provide food, make the bags and/or go on the street as a group distributing the bags to our brothers and sisters. Once we complete the bags, the priests bless the food and then hit the streets. We carpool so we are together. We are always open for more parishioners to participate.
